Oregon Sustainability Center
The Oregon Sustainability Center is the nation's first downtown high-rise building designed to meet the rigorous prerequisites of the Cascadia Region Green Building Council’s Living Building Challenge. The proposed Oregon Sustainability Center site is planned as part of the nine-block SW Montgomery Green Street Concept Plan.
Nevue Ngan Associates is working with a diverse project team to create a site design that reflects the Pacific Northwest, fosters innovation, inspiration and beauty, and meets the criteria established by the Living Building Challenge. The Oregon Sustainability Center will produce 100 percent of its energy on-site by way of self-sustaining energy generation and distribution. The building and site design also include integrated water (black, grey and stormwater) reuse and net-zero energy consumption. Schematic design for the Oregon Sustainability Center will begin in the fall of 2010.
