Powell Butte Nature Park
As a signature open space park in Portland, Powell Butte Nature Park is popular with hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders who enjoy its 600 acres of trails, forests and abundant wildlife. The park is also a critical link in Portland's unique gravity-fed water system, which passes through Powell Butte's reservoir. In coordination with the Portland Water Bureau’s project to upgrade Powell Butte Reservoir 2, Nevue Ngan Associates partnered with CH2M Hill to redesign the park center, establish native grasslands and forests, and enhance trails. The team engaged with citizens, users, neighbors, and Portland Parks and Recreation in an intensive public involvement process. Through coordinated outreach to the park's various user groups, Nevue Ngan Associates worked to ensure the revision of the multi-use trail network accommodates hikers, bikers and others for years to come.
